MILDRED C. PHILIPP Mildred C. Philipp, 103, died on April 23, 2011, at home in Florence, AZ, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law Alice and Elmer Stroh. Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, KS.on Friday, May 27, 2011. A rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to Harmony Hospice, 15151 Florence Blvd., Casa Grande, AZ 85222, in lieu of flowers. Mrs. Phillip was born on March 5, 1908, in Seneca, KS, to August and Blanche Haug. She began her after school life as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in KS. After her marriage to Ralph Borgeson she worked a few years as a waitress and later as a seamstress. She was a homemaker during her married years. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, sewing, creating and altering clothing, crocheting, dancing including square dancing, bowling and bird watching. She loved the Catholic Church. In her early married years she lived in Emmett, KS, moving to Colby, KS, in 1942. In the late 1950s she and Ralph moved to Ellis, KS. There she lost her first husband Ralph Borgeson and later married Carol Philipp. After Carl died she bought and lived in a home for several years in Granbury, TX, near her daughter Carol. Her last move took her to Florence, AZ, where she bought and lived in a home near another daughter Alice. The last 5 years of her life she lived with her daughter Alice and her husband Elmer. The family will be eternally grateful for the care and devotion with which Alice and Elmer cared for her. Survivors include two sons, Ralph Borgeson, Jr., of Gladstone, MO, and Dennis Borgeson of Centennial, CO; two daughters, Alice Stroh of Florence, AZ, and Arnold, CA, and Carol Kautz of Granbury, TX; two brothers, Arthur Haug of Lawrence, KS, and Robert Haug of Fort Myers, FL; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Ralph Borgeson and Carl Philipp; a daughter, Lila Lambert; a son, John Borgeson; her parents August and Blanche Haug; 6 brothers, Paul Haug, Cyril (C.B.) Haug, Ralph Haug, Elmer Haug, Regis Haug, Walter Haug; 5 sisters, Marcella Hrenchir, Rachel Sumner, Beatrice Kauffman, Eunice Marstall, and Lucille Jones; and two grandchildren, Don Buford and Ramona Kautz.
